Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu, the latest place in Malaysia announced as bandaraya. Which is only entitled when the place is considered big, have citizens around 300k and few other criteria. But all I want to tell here is just my trip there recently (^_________^)v
It was 10minutes decision before i decided to follow Ammar and Ardian for their trip to KT. Since this is my last year, and I've never visit KT for touring purpose make it an easy answer that time. Think nothing of money that time...plus I plan to get few jersey there. So I pack my back and wait for ammar to get moving. We start our journey at 6pm, friday, 11 Jan.
Ammar drove his car. Our plan was going to ammar house at kerteh first for the night and start our sightseeing the next day. That night, we met his parent, have dinner and chat with them.
First thing in the morning, of course we had breakfast ammar's mum cook for us...fried kuey tiaw and fried mee. Thanks for your generosity makcik ^^
After breakfast we start the car and head to Muzium Negeri Terengganu located at Kuala Terengganu, about 30mins drive from kerteh. It was the largest muzium in Malaysia. Even Muzium Negara is half the size. Maybe not many know this place is because the lack of promotion and marketing. Otherwise it will be a great place to visit. If you want to know more about Malay and our roots, this muzium is a place to be. Seriously, from clothings, tradition, weapons, religion and many other stuff located here...I also finally able to see Batu Bersurat (you know the one you see in sejarah text book) with my own eyes ^^ (even bought a keychain shaped like batu bersurat).
Sadly though, because camera is not allowed inside to muzium. Batu bersurat located just right after you walk past the counter. Its cool watching something historic and important with my own eyes. Explanation and the notes written at the stone is explained by the signboard.
There are 4 blocks and 3 levels at this muzium. Just block D and level 3 is closed because of some renovation. There are art gallery, islamic related items, "ilmu kejadian" (where they place the animals, birds and fishes there (dead of course). Whats interesting there was 200kg ikan kerapu which is caught few years ago and also ikan naga (about 2 meters long). Other animals we never saw even in zoo also shown here...
Its sooo big i cant finish telling everything in this post ^______^ haha
So if you went to KT, DONT EVER FORGET to visit this place. Its cool...
Outside, there are few other "balai" and huge boats, train head and stuff.
We head out and its already 2pm. We head to the surau there for Zohor prayer before continue our journey.
Next, we went to Teluk Ketapang. A beautiful place. Go to one of gerai there to eat. bad for us though because they only sell fried mee and other fried stuff. Then we decided to order sotong, udang and pari goreng tepung. RM5 for pari and sotong but RM6 for udang. Well...its not pricy as I thought because that makcik gave us quite a lot. Large portion in the piring. Never ate pari (as if ikan pari) goreng tepur? So do I....man..it was delicous!!!
The taste of pari still there yet cruncy and nice. Dipped with chili sauce and it was HEAVEN!! udang goreng tepung they made it just like tempura of japanese and sotong is just as great. It was eating day that day. I forget about my weight control diet before. just eat and more eating ^__________________^
When moving from the place, ammar show us where Masjid Kristal is. Well, from what i see its small and definitely the purpose of building it is not for ISlam and more to political thingy and as tourist attraction.
Went to MM (Mydin Mall..wow...mydin already have a mall here) to withdraw some money. After that, we went to Stesen Bas KT to buy some jersey. Ammar said its cheap there and his 2nd choice to buy jersey after Rantau Panjang. We met his cousin husband who has jean repairing stall there and that brader recommend the shop next to his and talk to the owner to gives us some discount (which he DID give ^__________________^)
Bought Arsenal 3rd Kit and Aston Villa home kit which cost RM29 each. The quality is damn good too. Seriously its like the original, with the tag at the colar, the prints all at the right place. In KL that would cost around RM55 at Campbell (EACH!!). It was quite a bargain. Saves 50 bucks and chance to visit KT also.huhuhu. Ammar grab himself couple of Man Yuu jersey (home and away).
Before we head home that night, we stop at Masjid Terapung (Floating mosque). Its near the beach also. Not exactly floating but it is surrounded by lake and looks like on top of it. Thus named "terapung". Understand? There are few interesting mosque along the way..such as Masjid Putih (White Mosque) where everything is white.
We stop by at McD on our way home that night to fulfill ammar's craving for Prosperity Burger (my first time tho...not so into mcD actually). Well..it was nice. I can say..yeah...its delicious. Together with twist fries? or what was it called? i'm not sure. but beware!!! Dont order the green tea served with it cos it smells like the perfume males wear during prayers. Minyak atar tuh...huhu. Lucky i just order ribena. Weird when it smells in your mouth.
We spend the night testing jersey and watching live cast for football matches (starts late so we are lazy and too tired to watch it at mamak). Its frustating the next morning though when know the news that man yuu won 6-0 to the stupid newcastle!! Bloody biatch...huhu
We head back to kuantan at 2pm after lunch and zohor. Ammar got to bring his sick brother to clinic.
We went to around 4 beaches during this trip. Teluk Ketapang, batu burok, Kemasik, and few more but we just passing by. The most beautiful beach we went that day was Pantai Kemasik. It was like the place was untouch. Only few pondok here and there. Ammar said the place is only known by people around the area only, thus not many outsider going there. Thus the place is clean compared to other places. The beach is beautiful, many large rocks around the area giving beautiful scenery to the place. We decide to play in the water for a bit.
Found quite large crab there ^___________^ but cant force it out of the rock. huhuhu.
We went to kemaman next and bought sata. I dont buy keropok lekor because ammar said maybe its not delicious there...so we just went for sata. Bought around RM5 to eat and some for friends at UMP. We stop by at pantai Balok to rest and eat some sata there. Fresh sata is truly delicious. Unlike some i've ate before which is dry, this one has more moisture and thus give really nice taste when its inside the mouth...arghhh...I'm craving more of that ^_________^
And we get our ass moving after lepaking and laying around with full stomach, we head straight to UMP... It was a nice trip at the weekend. As soon as the car reach UMP sign, my mind automatically triggering some weird signals...
haha..anyway, heres a few pics during my trip to KT. Unlucky cannot find digital camera before departing since short of time when making the decision. Just with my 6600 vga camera only.huuuuu (TT__________________TT)
